It has been our experience that Beta vulgaris [Leaf Beet Group] 'Vulcan' performs well in our area in a cool season planting. It rebounded well after being subjected to a sudden cold snap and freeze. Although it did not come back as large as it had been, it generally reached about sixteen inches in height.
